Your demise is listening-The Rules of Retribution Part 10

Each religion claims its faith, and interpretation differs from other religions.  Still, they seem to agree that the Evil or dark force indulges you first.  Before long, you are eagerly jumping on the rail of corruption.  Nothing, nobody can touch you or oppose you.  A few of the corrupted may get away with it, and their dark secrets are carried to their tomb.  However, the good time comes to a halt all of a sudden.  I, for one, am grateful to this man who plucked up the courage to expose the Goliah in my True horror stories in the Modern Paris series.  Because of his courage, I am getting some of the justice denied to me while this Goliah was in power.

Louis XIII’s eloquence puts him on par with the Serpent while the imposter looks on from the rooftop in Paris. Louis XIII, the French King, refutes the Serpent that human is not always inferior to the deities. Looking down on them from the nearby roof is the imposter of the Serpent. He is trapped in the shadow; thus, he cannot be seen by other existences. He explains his former lodging in Paris, the cathedral of Notre Dame, before the recent big fire. The devil imposter cannot stand the lingering smell of smoke because it reminds him of the holy incense.
The darkness has left some parts of Paris. Those hypocrites who had been secretly sinning were since exposed and punished. The sinners try to shift the blame on the Devil, but the terrible ideas are always theirs. Take his champion of the vulnerable. My presence nearby hid his heinous acts of taking advantage of the weak for years. But when I left him, it all came out in the open. The disgraced hypocrite also claimed that Devil had made him do it, but all those hideous ideas were always his. If I were that resourceful, I would have gotten out of this damn darkness where I've been trapped!

SERPENT, aka NAGA, the eight-headed deity.  The snake represents the frailty that sees us stray from the path and often into darkness.  Big predators make the headlines, but ordinary people are tempted to commit small-scale cheating when shielded under the mantle of anonymity.  On good days we can fight off the temptation, but on bad days when we have just lost something and the world seems unfair, our hands reach out for it while a sinking feeling spreads inside our hearts, warning us that this is not the way to get even with life.  However, God or the universe may not mind if the gain is minimal?  So we tell ourselves.

NAGA represents the second chance and atonement in life.

GODDESS IRIS/NEMESIS: Instead of picking one from the existing religions, all of which I respect, I opted to represent the universe's will via Goddess IRIS.  God gave us light, and Goddess followed it up with the sound, but as sound travels slower than light, no one knows her existence despite benefiting from her gift, music.  Something turned this once open-book IRIS into NEMESIS, Goddess of Retribution.

THE SPIRIT of LOUIS XIII: The king of France who reigned from 14 May 1610 to 14 May 1643.  Enigmatic character the world may not have fully appreciated, not unlike the current, which can be substantial even if the river looks calm.

OMELETTE: the dog who was the pet of Louis XIII in its former life.
